This PR was opened by the Changesets release GitHub action. When you're ready to do a release, you can merge this and the packages will be published to npm automatically. If you're not ready to do a release yet, that's fine, whenever you add more changesets to main, this PR will be updated.

Releases

@electric-ax/agents@0.4.13

Patch Changes

  • f222d39: Add a form-based Add / Edit / Remove flow for MCP servers in the
desktop's Settings → MCP Servers page. Before this, the only way to
register a server was to hand-edit settings.json or a workspace
mcp.json. The dialog supports both http and stdio transports, all
four auth modes, and writes through to the global settings.json mcp.servers block.

The MCP page also gains provenance + shadowing awareness:

    • Entries from a workspace mcp.json render a "from mcp.json" badge
and are read-only (no Edit/Remove). Lifecycle verbs still apply.
    • When a name in settings.json collides with one in workspace
mcp.json, the workspace still wins (existing rule); the shadowed
settings entry is rendered grayed-out next to the running workspace
twin so the user can see what's been overridden.

BuiltinAgentsServer gains a public setExtraMcpServers(extras) so
the desktop can push add/edit/remove changes to the live MCP registry
without restarting. Workspace mcp.json continues to win on name
collision through the same merge path used by the file watcher.

  • 6434774: Add owner-default agents-server permissions with type-level spawn grants, entity grants, effective permission materialization, principal-scoped entity observation streams, shared-state access links, runtime registration permission grants, and default user spawn grants for built-in Horton and Worker types.

Existing entity observation bridges are rebuilt after upgrade because pre-permission bridge rows do not include principal attribution.

Entity manage grants participate in read visibility, entity-type manage grants participate in spawn visibility, and broad parented spawn-time grants require manage on the parent.

  • b2bf806: Upgrade @durable-streams/state to 0.3.1 and drop the @tanstack/db pnpm override.

@durable-streams/state@0.3.x makes @tanstack/db an optional peer dependency (it was a direct ^0.6.0 dependency) and splits its tsdb-coupled tools into a @durable-streams/state/db subpath. tsdb-specific imports (createStreamDB, queryOnce, createTransaction, query operators, etc.) now come from @durable-streams/state/db; the bare entry keeps only the tsdb-free types and helpers.

Because state no longer pulls its own @tanstack/db copy, the root pnpm.overrides collapsing @tanstack/db@>=0.6.0 <0.7.0 to 0.6.7 is removed. To keep a single 0.6.7 instance without it, @tanstack/react-db is raised to ^0.1.85 and @tanstack/electric-db-collection to ^0.3.5 (both pin @tanstack/db@0.6.7), and @durable-streams/server to ^0.3.7 (depends on state@0.3.1, removing the lingering transitive state@0.2.9).

  • 74d2341: Fix Codex auth for low-cost tool calls by passing fresh access tokens to URL extraction and worker tools.

  • b0030a1: Size Horton's context source budget from the selected model's known context window, including Moonshot metadata, while preserving the previous default for unknown models.

  • 5f96a15: Grant all users manage permission on the built-in Horton entity type by default, and backfill existing agents-server installations that already registered Horton without that grant.

  • 9da7b8f: Install an Undici HTTP cache dispatcher for the built-in agents local Node runner so Durable Streams catch-up reads can use server cache headers. Electric Agents Desktop uses an on-disk SQLite cache so runtime restarts can reuse cached catch-up responses.

  • 7c62024: Remove the old child-handle result API (EntityHandle.run and EntityHandle.text()) and internal spawn run promise plumbing. Child coordination should use durable runFinished server wakes with includeResponse so parent handlers can return safely instead of waiting in-memory for child output.

  • 048e2b6: Grant all users manage permission on the built-in Worker entity type by default, and backfill existing agents-server installations that already registered Worker without that grant.

Patch Changes

  • 9fdf96a: Track agent-originated sends with from_agent / from_principal inbox metadata and render agent/self-send inbox messages with JSON payload fallbacks.

  • 312f5ec: Promote skills/types to a first-class tsdown entry so its .d.ts is a stable
named output, avoiding an intermittent dts generation failure under CI's
    parallel build.

  • 6434774: Add owner-default agents-server permissions with type-level spawn grants, entity grants, effective permission materialization, principal-scoped entity observation streams, shared-state access links, runtime registration permission grants, and default user spawn grants for built-in Horton and Worker types.

Existing entity observation bridges are rebuilt after upgrade because pre-permission bridge rows do not include principal attribution.

Entity manage grants participate in read visibility, entity-type manage grants participate in spawn visibility, and broad parented spawn-time grants require manage on the parent.

  • 4f88e6d: Dedupe @tanstack/db to a single instance.

    @tanstack/db is effectively a singleton (collections/transactions/live
queries use instanceof checks and module-level state), but the lockfile had
drifted to several 0.6.x copies, breaking StreamDB collections. Adds a root
pnpm.overrides entry collapsing the 0.6.x line to 0.6.7, scoped to
    >=0.6.0 <0.7.0 so the legacy example starters pinned to 0.0.x/0.5.8 are
untouched. Stopgap until @durable-streams/state ships @tanstack/db as a
    peer dependency.

Also raises the agents-mobile iOS minimum deployment target to 16.4 (via
expo-build-properties). The chat renders in an Expo DOM WebView whose markdown
    stack ships regex lookbehind, which JavaScriptCore only parses on iOS 16.4+;
below that the whole DOM bundle fails to parse and the chat renders blank.

  • 74d2341: Fix Codex auth for low-cost tool calls by passing fresh access tokens to URL extraction and worker tools.

  • d14d9a9: Remove the unused per-entity agents error stream. Entities now expose only their main stream; spawn, fork, registry lookup, terminal signal handling, UI/runtime types, client helpers, and conformance tests no longer create or require an entity-level error stream.

  • d14d9a9: Remove the unused per-entity agents error stream. Entities now expose only their main stream; spawn, fork, registry lookup, terminal signal handling, UI/runtime types, client helpers, and conformance tests no longer create or require an entity-level error stream.

  • 889fa20: Expose tenant-scoped users as an Electric shape and add a chat sharing dialog that grants user principals or all workspace users view, chat, or manage permissions over an entity. View/chat sharing includes fork access, forked chats are owned by the principal that creates the fork, shared chats can be identified and filtered by creator in the sidebar, and Cloud requests now inject the signed-in user as the Electric principal.

Mobile now syncs the users and effective-permissions shapes, marks and filters shared chats by creator, disables native chat and signal controls when the current principal lacks permission, and shows the signed-in user principal on the Account screen for debugging.

@electric-ax/agents-desktop@0.1.14

Patch Changes

  • 7709c9a: Seed @playwright/mcp into the desktop's settings.json mcp.servers
block on first launch — gives every new install browser automation
out of the box. The default is opt-out friendly: after the seed runs,
the entry behaves like any other settings.json MCP server (Edit,
Remove, Disable all work normally), and removing it sticks across
restarts thanks to a per-name seededDefaultMcpServerNames flag.
Future built-in defaults can be added to DEFAULT_MCP_SERVERS in
settings/mcp-defaults.ts; existing installs will pick them up on
the next launch as long as the name isn't already recorded as seeded.

  • bbf52b6: Wire electron-updater so the desktop app can detect new releases. Phase
    one of two:

    • Adds a working Check for Updates… menu item (Electric Agents menu
on macOS, Help menu on Windows/Linux, plus the in-window app-icon
menu) and a quiet background check ~10s after launch.
    • On Windows/Linux, signed-platform flow is wired end-to-end: downloads
in the background with a dock/taskbar progress bar, then prompts
"Restart now" to apply via quitAndInstall().
    • On macOS, ships as notify-only until Developer ID signing lands —
Squirrel.Mac can't swap an unsigned bundle, so we skip the download
entirely and prompt to open the GitHub releases page instead.
    • Switches the publish provider from github to generic pointed at
the moving agents-desktop-latest tag, because the repo's overall
"latest" release is shared across packages and the GitHub provider
      was picking the wrong one.
    • Adds channel separation so canary builds publish to the beta
channel against an agents-desktop-canary URL — stable users never
      auto-update to canaries.
  • 6e9e4a7: Show elapsed time while an agent is responding. While a turn is
streaming, the meta row now ticks Thinking · 12s (or just 12s once
tokens start flowing). When a turn settles, the bare ✓ done becomes
✓ done in 1m 5s for turns completed in-session. Historical turns
(already complete on page load) keep the bare label, since the client
has no reliable completion timestamp for those — only the user message
time, and subtracting now() would lie about the duration.

  • 74d2341: Fix Codex auth for low-cost tool calls by passing fresh access tokens to URL extraction and worker tools.

@electric-ax/agents-mobile@0.0.11

Patch Changes

  • a811960: Add Sentry crash/error reporting to the mobile app: errors-only reporting disabled in development, with source-map upload wired through the withSentry Expo config plugin and getSentryExpoConfig metro wrapper.

  • 4f88e6d: Dedupe @tanstack/db to a single instance.

    @tanstack/db is effectively a singleton (collections/transactions/live
queries use instanceof checks and module-level state), but the lockfile had
drifted to several 0.6.x copies, breaking StreamDB collections. Adds a root
pnpm.overrides entry collapsing the 0.6.x line to 0.6.7, scoped to
    >=0.6.0 <0.7.0 so the legacy example starters pinned to 0.0.x/0.5.8 are
untouched. Stopgap until @durable-streams/state ships @tanstack/db as a
    peer dependency.

Also raises the agents-mobile iOS minimum deployment target to 16.4 (via
expo-build-properties). The chat renders in an Expo DOM WebView whose markdown
    stack ships regex lookbehind, which JavaScriptCore only parses on iOS 16.4+;
below that the whole DOM bundle fails to parse and the chat renders blank.

  • 3fb4461: Harden the mobile kebab-menu server picker: surface connect failures in-sheet instead of silently swallowing them, persist a Cloud server only after the switch succeeds, and let the submenu close animation finish before resetting to the root page.

  • 312f5ec: Typecheck against agents-runtime's built types for the package index instead of
its source, so the UI no longer pulls node-only sandbox code into its program.
The browser-safe client entry stays source-mapped (matching the vite alias).
