Looks good to me. Note that the alps-cluster-config commit that I used on the DLA-Future PR is not (yet?) on main: eth-cscs/alps-cluster-config@3c26eb2. I hope I can get that merged into main but it's not clear yet to me if that's ok to do.

Because of issues with
mpich device=ch4 netmod=ofi, the Eiger update broke CI. This PR follows eth-cscs/DLA-Future#1225 and uses directly Cray-MPICH instead.Other changes follow corresponding PRs in DLA-Future:
