Would it be possible to integrate basic operations that would allow to adjust the model before Exporting ?
The operations mainly focus around the origin:
- where the origin is - translation
- how the model is rotated - mostly 90 deg jumps are what I need to fix
- fixing colors - either of selected object or individual faces
(sure the next guy will ask for scaling too)
For rotation - a simple input box with degrees and action to rotate would do. Rotate around current origin.
For translation - above the basic input+action, one could use help of a edge or face picker, and assign its center as a new origin, or assign the Z=0 as the minimum of the Z axis (to align the part to the surface).
Color picker - for a selected part (or face), the change of the "product color" would be also a nice addition. Eventually a re-coloring table where one could see all the used colors, and assign new colors might serve similar purpose (my task is to either introduce some color, or normalize color scheme among different models of similar parts).
To make the coordinate system easier to understand a different mode of the little cube with labelled faces could be shown (eg. showing a tiny PCB plane, with X,Y axes drawn, while the Z goes upwards to height). These systems could be in the menu to pick from, eg. in Display - Coordinates - Native / Altium Designer, so when fixing a model, I would have a reference of what goes what direction.
