This type was made with two constructors presumably for efficiency, but it adds complexity for likely trivial gains. This refactor of the type is cleaner and easier to use.
defaultStyis a bit confusing (especially with adefaultStyle); I didn't get rid of it, but a helperplainSegcan take its place usually.
