docs: add user-facing Release Notes (0.4.14 highlights)
Add docs/RELEASE_NOTES.md — themed, human-friendly highlights that complement the technical CHANGELOG — with the 0.4.14 entry (@workspace + auto-reindex + always-on retrieval, default Agent Mode + Gemma tool-calling, Context & activity panel, /edit per-hunk + slash, @folder pinning, multi-session history, on-prem Docker installer) plus model/context tips. Link it from the README and CHANGELOG. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01BoaM7pH2oHwyzUGwLMZfMz

# CodeSetu Release Notes
2+
3+
Human-friendly highlights of what's new, grouped by theme. For the complete,
4+
technical list of every change, see the [CHANGELOG](../CHANGELOG.md) — that
5+
remains the source of truth.
6+
7+
Everything here is **bring-your-own-model** and works fully local / air-gapped:
8+
point CodeSetu at Sarvam, Ollama, vLLM, OpenRouter, or any OpenAI-compatible
9+
endpoint.
10+
11+
---
12+
13+
## 0.4.14 — Codebase-aware, more transparent, runs anywhere
14+
15+
Shipped for **both** VS Code and JetBrains (IntelliJ / PyCharm / WebStorm), now
16+
aligned at the same version.
17+
18+
### 🧠 `@workspace` — semantic codebase search
19+
20+
Index your repo once and CodeSetu retrieves code by *meaning*, not just text.
21+
22+
- Type `@workspace <question>` in chat, or let Agent Mode call the
23+
`search_workspace` tool.
24+
- **Auto-builds on first use** and **auto re-indexes a few seconds after you
25+
save** (incremental) — retrieval stays fresh with no manual step.
26+
- **Always-on retrieval** option: pull relevant code into *every* turn, not only
27+
when you type `@workspace`.
28+
- Runs against any OpenAI-compatible embeddings endpoint (defaults to Ollama
29+
`nomic-embed-text`). The index persists under `.codesetu/`.
30+
31+
### 🤖 Agent Mode — now the default
32+
33+
- Reads, edits, and runs commands in a tool-calling loop, with your approval and
34+
a one-click **revert** of a turn's edits.
35+
- **Works with models that lack native tool-calling** (e.g. Gemma and many small
36+
local models) via a prompted tool-calling fallback.
37+
- Read-only tools auto-run; file edits and shell commands ask first.
38+
39+
### 🔍 "Context & activity" panel — see what CodeSetu is doing
40+
41+
Every turn shows the **provider · model · endpoint**, whether Agent Mode is on,
42+
the **tools available**, and the **@workspace** outcome (retrieved files, or the
43+
reason it found nothing). A small **version badge** by the model picker makes it
44+
obvious which build is loaded.
45+
46+
### ✂️ Sharper editing & context
47+
48+
- **`/edit`** — rewrite a selection or file from an instruction, preview it as a
49+
diff, and **accept/reject individual hunks**. Available as a command and as a
50+
`/edit` slash in chat.
51+
- **`@folder`** pinning — pin a whole folder as context, not just single files.
52+
- **Multi-session chat history** — a switcher to jump between past
53+
conversations; "New chat" starts a fresh one and keeps the old.
54+
55+
### 🐳 On-prem Docker installer
56+
57+
A turnkey self-hosted stack (`deploy/docker/`): one OpenAI-compatible server that
58+
serves **both** the chat/agent model and the `@workspace` embedding model, fully
59+
inside your network. Includes an **air-gapped** install path (save image + model
60+
volume, restore offline), a health check, a GPU toggle, and a documented vLLM
61+
alternative. The IDE extensions are unchanged — they just point at the endpoint.
62+
63+
### 💡 Tips
64+
65+
- For agent / coding tasks, prefer a tool-calling coder model such as
66+
`qwen2.5-coder`. Reasoning-only models (which emit a long "thinking" stream
67+
before the answer) can return an empty reply inside the tool loop.
68+
- To use a large context window with local Ollama, raise it on the server, e.g.
69+
`OLLAMA_CONTEXT_LENGTH=131072 ollama serve` — the model's context window is a
70+
server setting, separate from the per-reply output limit.
