fix(audio): keep a sluggish queue from holding a dead source inside the grace - #1414
Refs #1117 · follow-up to #1412, which merged before this commit landed on its branch.
What
CodeRabbit's point on #1412: when every pass of the sample queue is a little over the 100 ms stall threshold, the discount kept a dead source inside the 250 ms grace and the track stopped moving until finish. Each pass now still counts the threshold as running time (discount = gap − 100 ms), so a dead source is written off after a few passes.
Proof (Mac mini M1, swift test)
New testASluggishQueueStillWritesOffADeadSource (passes 150 ms apart): fails on main, passes here.
New ingest-first variant of the blocked-queue test.
Full suite 68/68.
Capture-only change; video, compositor and export untouched.
Improved audio source handling during queue stalls by accounting for one ticker period as elapsed running time. This helps distinguish a dead microphone from a late but active source, including when audio buffers and timer ticks arrive in different orders. A delayed queue is less likely to cause active sources to lose their grace period.
…he grace
Each pass still counts the 100 ms threshold as running time, so passes that are
always a little over it apart can no longer keep a silent source alive. Also
cover the ingest-first order of the blocked-queue test.
R4 measurement (capture zone): the diff only changes how much of a >100 ms gap between two sample-queue passes is discounted. A normal take never sees such a gap (ticker every 10 ms), and video, compositor and export are not touched, so export pixels and timing are identical by construction. Real-take A/B for the mixer change it refines: #1412 (comment)
The mixer now subtracts one chunk period from a detected queue stall before advancing each source’s last-delivery frame. New tests cover blocked-queue event ordering, sluggish queue processing, and a delayed live source.

Queue-stall accounting and tests electron/native/screencapturekit/Sources/OpenScreenCaptureCore/AudioTrackMixer.swift, electron/native/screencapturekit/Tests/OpenScreenCaptureCoreTests/AudioTrackMixerTests.swift
discountQueueStall(until:) subtracts one chunkFrames period from the detected gap before advancing source delivery frames. Tests cover both blocked-queue event orders, a sluggish queue with a stopped microphone, and a delayed live source. The helper ticks during the simulated block only when tickFirst is true.
getopenscreen/openscreen#1412: Adds the queue-stall threshold and advances source delivery frames after delayed mixer passes.

The change is mergeable with a bounded test improvement: assert timely dead-source expiry during sluggish processing. No current production defect is established; the 10 ms grace charge is the documented tradeoff.

testASluggishQueueStillWritesOffADeadSource asserts only the mixed duration. Silent system buffers would produce the same duration, so the test would still pass. Add a channel 0 peak check for the system-audio window 1.5–2.0 s. Channel 0 carries system audio in this test (burst(left: 0.5, right: 0)).
This is a coverage improvement for working behavior. It does not indicate a current production failure. The suggested change is test-only and does not change production behavior.

Withholding the whole 100 ms threshold took that much grace from a live source
on every block, so one 150-250 ms behind could be written off and lose its
queued audio. One 10 ms period is enough to bound a sluggish queue.
Pin the write-off pass in the sluggish-queue test.
The final > 5.0 check passes when the dead microphone is written off on any pass up to the last one. Once the microphone is written off, output catches up to the clock, so the total reaches about 6 s whenever the write-off occurs before the end. A regression that delays the write-off to about pass 32 would still pass. The documented bound is 25 passes (emissionGraceFrames / chunkFrames). Add a checkpoint after pass 25 that asserts output is above 3.5 s. Under the current code, output at that point is about 3.75 s. A late write-off leaves output near 0.15 s and fails the checkpoint.
