Why?
The Google Preferred Source button was introduced experimentally in #15236.
Following an 3-way test (2 wording variants + control) we established that the "Prefer the Guardian on Google" wording was significantly more likely to drive interactions with the button. No secondary metric was harmed in the execution of this test, so we are rolling it out to 100% of the audience.
