Problem
Editors must send multiple separate alerts in each category, instead of one send with multiple categories selected. This can make it tricky to target specific groups of recipients for a breaking news alert. Editors would like to target alerts more precisely (e.g. France, Canada, minus Japan) to make them relevant for readers.
Solution
This is due to how the alert topics are displayed as front collections. Changing the design of the tools, such that a user could select which ever combination alert topics they thought were relevant, may require a complete rethink of the UI. For the purposes of this task, we should look to understand the problem better and make a recommendation.
