What I want to contribute right now

I'm currently heavily customising my local setup, and when I encounter bugs or missing functionality, I'm implementing the fixes myself. I want to contribute these fixes upstream so others can benefit from them as well. Right now, I want to add support for the "silent" flag in scrolling mode so that windows can be moved and manipulated automatically without stealing focus from the user.

Why the above bug / feature specifically?

I'm using this capability to create and move terminal windows in a two-dimensional grid that my agents use. That way, I have a clear overview of the projects and parent/child relationships of all working agents.

So let us judge based on that.

I told you in the MR that your agent should have warned against this and told you the consequences. Did it not?

Fully slopped, missing AI disclosure, you didn't even deign to write the description yourself.

I also took the liberty to go through your github history. 4 issues opened, and nothing else. That'd be fine, if all of them without exception weren't slopped.

The agent made the first PR per my instructions after I had incrementally modified and finally approved the draft. I got the message back about vouching and AI disclosure requirements. I came to the message board to follow the requirements, and the next draft of the PR includes a disclosure about AI use, and all following PRs will be completely human-written. The original PR was my bad and more of an indicator of my lack of experience contributing to open-source projects than anything else.

Clearly, I am using AI when working through these problems. I can't imagine how much noise open-source projects are dealing with from automated fleets of agents, and I don't want to add more noise to your already difficult role. Because of that, I've been very reluctant to send anything upstream in any open-source project I've worked on, especially since I really don't have much experience with what that entails. That being said, I thought the addition was worth sharing with the community, and it seemed to fill a real need rather than just be fluff. Also, it would be nice to give something back instead of just being the benefactor of an awesome project like this.

I respect whatever the decision is.

if you are not willing to understand code, and do it yourself, then don't send code upstream. Simple.

If you don't know how cars work, don't try to repair your friend's car.

I don't have problems with understanding or writing code. I meant I didn't have experience with contributing to open source projects - git, PRs, guidelines etc. This is the first time I'm sharing my code with other people.

Anyway, thanks for your time and thank you for an amazing project. Hyprland is the best window manager I've ever used.
