An ESPHome-based smart controller for a kitchen plinth heater fan, built on a Wemos D1 Mini (ESP8266). Designed to work with a heat pump or underfloor heating system, automatically pushing warm air through a plinth heat exchanger when the flow temperature reaches a set threshold.
Works fully standalone — no Home Assistant required for basic operation. HA adds remote control and monitoring.
- 🌡️ Auto mode — fan turns on at a set speed when temperature hits your threshold
- 💨 Boost mode — full speed via physical switch
- ⭕ Off mode — physical switch cuts fan completely
- 👶 Child mode — disables boost from the physical switch (toddler-safe!)
- 🎛️ Manual mode — override fan speed from Home Assistant
- 📊 RPM feedback — reads tach signal from one fan
- 🔄 Survives HA outages — all logic runs on the ESP itself
- 💾 Restores settings on reboot — set temp, set speed persisted to flash

dallas_addrsubstitution with your sensor's address (see ESPHome docs) - Add your WiFi credentials to
secrets.yaml - Flash to a Wemos D1 Mini
- Wire up per the hardware guide
Hardware design based on 3ative's PWM Fan Controller with modifications:
- Added 3-position I/O/II switch (Off / Auto / Boost)
- Added 3x fan headers
- Modified ESPHome config for heat pump / weather compensation use case
