JupyterCon 2025 update from the Executive Council proposal #141

Description

@choldgraf

Title

Here's where we think Jupyter's community and technology are headed

Description

The Executive Council recently completed its first year of operation with Jupyter's new umbrella organization, The Linux Foundation. It has both settled into its new environment, taken several experiments and steps and improving our community's operations, and developed a lot of interesting technical ideas that we'd like to lean into over the coming years.

Over the past several months, we've been listening with several stakeholders across the Jupyter ecosystem - both users and contributors alike. This talk will describe the big ideas that stand out to us. We'll cover the major risks and opportunities we see in Jupyter's community and our technical direction. We'll also share major directions where we think the project is headed, and how you can help us to get there.

Presenters

Some combination of the EC.

Format

25 minute talk (?). We could probably fill 45 minutes of content, but so far the talk slots cap at 25 minutes.
