Both github-script helpers become composite actions under .github/actions/, called with the $/ self-repository syntax, and import their module through GITHUB_ACTION_PATH.

pr-test-comment needs no checkout any more. The workflow gains a per-PR concurrency group with cancel-in-progress. The script is reworked: one Source shape for head and merge target, one uvxCommand builder, and the duplicated merge commit line folded into the archived table.

version-check owns checkout, setup-uv and uv sync, takes package and tag-prefixes, and exposes name, version, pypi_url as outputs. Both publish check jobs collapse to one uses: step. The two wrapper modules fold into the shared one, which reads its config from env.

Neither action runs before merge: pull_request_target executes the base branch, and the publish workflows fire on release and tag events. The next PR and the next release are the first real runs.

Gates: bun run typecheck, dprint check, actionlint (only the two pre-existing shellcheck notes in the main publish workflow).

Call it from the workflow with the self-repository syntax, so no checkout
is needed. One run per pull request at a time. Fold the merge commit
line into the archived table.
- Simplify `runner` commands in `autofix.yml` and `pages.yml`
- Fix `GITHUB_ACTION_PATH` usage in `pr-test-comment` action
- Migrate `package.json` to Bun catalogs for dependency management
- Update `dprint`, `runner-run`, and `tombi` to latest versions
- Add `.markdownlint.json` to disable line-length rules
Both publish workflows call it with package and tag-prefix inputs. The
two wrapper modules fold into the shared one, which reads its config
from env. Import action modules by GITHUB_ACTION_PATH.

The bw CLI pin now lives under catalogs.ci, so the config step follows
catalog: references before parsing the version.

Note

Reviews paused

It looks like this branch is under active development. To avoid overwhelming you with review comments due to an influx of new commits, CodeRabbit has automatically paused this review. You can configure this behavior by changing the reviews.auto_review.auto_pause_after_reviewed_commits setting.

Use the following commands to manage reviews:

  • @coderabbitai resume to resume automatic reviews.
  • @coderabbitai review to trigger a single review.

📝 Summary

Move PR comment and release version checks into reusable composite GitHub Actions. Add per-PR concurrency, merge-state guards, typed outputs, and local checkout and uv setup.

Simplify publish workflows by delegating version checks to the shared action. Refactor source handling, uvx command construction, and merge commit reporting.

Update CI tooling and configuration, including Bun catalog support, dependency versions, Markdownlint, TypeScript coverage, and integration matrix handling.

Walkthrough

This change adds local composite actions for pull-request test comments and package version checks. Workflows now use these actions. Related dependency, runner, TypeScript, lint, and documentation configuration has also been updated.

Changes

CI action consolidation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Pull-request test comment action
.github/actions/pr-test-comment/*, .github/workflows/pr-comment-bot.yml
The pull-request comment flow now uses a composite action. It supports active and archived comments, typed sources, command generation, validation, permission handling, and per-pull-request concurrency.
Version-check action and implementation
.github/actions/version-check/*
The version-check logic now runs through a composite action. It accepts package and tag-prefix inputs and returns package name, version, and PyPI URL outputs.
Version-check workflow integration
.github/workflows/publish.yml, .github/workflows/publish-stubs.yml
Publishing workflows now call the local version-check action and consume its outputs directly.
Workflow tooling and documentation alignment
.github/workflows/AGENTS.md, .github/workflows/autofix.yml, .github/workflows/integration-docker.yml, .github/workflows/pages.yml, .markdownlint.json, AGENTS.md, package.json, scripts/AGENTS.md, tsconfig.json
Workflow guidance, dependency catalogues, runner commands, lint configuration, and TypeScript includes now match the updated action layout.

Pull requests with certain valid branch names can receive unusable test commands in the automated comment. This is a bounded workflow usability issue that should be corrected before merge.

Poem

A tidy action sails the CI sea,
Comments update where they should be.
Version checks hoist outputs bright,
Catalogues keep the deck airtight.
Workflows march in ordered flight.
