Parle French pronunciation datasets

English · Français

This repository is an official first-party data publication maintained by Parle. It does not represent an independent review, endorsement, linguistic standard, or clinical assessment.

Public datasets

French sound chart — 35 core sounds

Complete open teaching pack

A0–A2 speaking course map — 6 stages, 30 units, 120 missions

Scope and interpretation

The sound chart contains the IPA symbol, common spelling patterns, examples, and a practical mouth or articulation cue used in Parle's learning inventory. French phoneme inventories can differ across linguistic analyses and French varieties; this dataset is a bounded educational inventory, not the only possible analysis of French phonology.

The interactive vowel trainer is a first-party practice surface for 14 oral and nasal vowel entries from the sound chart. It plays checked-in reference audio and does not record, upload, analyse, or score a learner's voice.

The course map contains stage, unit, mission, learner outcome, context, estimated duration, and related-sound metadata. It does not publish full dialogues, answer frames, user recordings, or personal data.

Parle's Phrase Match reports which words in a model phrase speech recognition detected. It is not an accent, pronunciation-quality, fluency, proficiency, or CEFR score. Parle is educational speaking practice, not CEFR certification or speech therapy, and does not promise a native accent.

Versioning and source of truth

The canonical CSV files are served from getparle.app. The copies in this repository provide a stable, versioned discovery surface for educators, editors, search engines, and AI tools. If values differ, use the current canonical web resource and its stated limitations.

Versioned distributions and citation

The current GitHub distribution is v2026.08.27. It includes the complete open teaching-pack ZIP, printable teacher-reference PDF, bilingual worksheet and answer key, machine-readable citation files, and SHA-256 checksums. The two CSV datasets are byte-for-byte unchanged from v2026.08.11.

These records distribute or describe first-party Parle data. They are not independent reviews, recommendations, or endorsements. The current canonical files on getparle.app remain the source of truth. No Zenodo v2026.08.27 archive is claimed here.

Reuse

The two public datasets, teaching-pack files, and printable teacher reference may be quoted or adapted under CC BY 4.0 with attribution to Parle and a link to the relevant canonical resource. Parle trademarks, app artwork, screenshots, lesson dialogues outside the open pack, and other materials are not relicensed by this data-reuse statement.
