WalkthroughThis change adds Crystal WebAssembly as a LiveCodes language. It adds browser-based compiler execution, a counter starter template, language and template registration, documentation, and localized language and template information. ChangesCrystal WebAssembly

🚀 Performance & Scalability | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Reuse the compiler when compileArgs changes.
If a user changes compileArgs, getCompiler creates another compiler and loads its assets again. The package already accepts compileArgs in each compiler.run call, and Line 86 passes the current options to that call. Keep one compiler and pass the new arguments per run. This avoids another large initialization before the changed program runs. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win
Set a timeout for Crystal runs.
If a Crystal program does not terminate, the worker never posts a result. This runner has no timeoutMs, so runCompiler remains pending and subsequent runs cannot recover without reloading the result page. Pass a suitable timeout to createWorkerRunner; its timeout path terminates the worker and permits the next run to create one. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Handle a rejected loaded promise.
If the compiler fails to initialize, livecodes.crystalWasm.loaded rejects. This handler then stops before it updates the button, leaving the starter on “Loading...” with a disabled button. Catch the rejection and show an error state instead.

ℹ️ No critical issues — the runtime and spec look correct. Three small companion updates are missing, listed below.
Reviewed changes
- Crystal (Wasm) language spec (
languages/crystal/lang-crystal-wasm.ts) — pass-through compiler,liveReload/largeDownload,inlineScriptsettings injection, and Monaco/CodeMirror/CodeJar support. - Runtime script (
lang-crystal-wasm-script.ts) — result-frame IIFE on the sharedcreateWorkerRunner/runCompilerhelpers; a workerimportScriptsthe CDN@live-codes/crystal-wasmglobal and exposeslivecodes.crystalWasm(run,loaded,settings, …). - Starter template + SVG — Crystal counter demo, wired into
templates/starter/index.ts. - Registrations —
languages.ts,models.ts,sdk/models.ts,vendors.ts(CDN URL + monaco-languages bump),scripts/build.js,command-menu-actions.ts,language-info.html, en i18n, template JSON maps, docs page and docs components,vendor-licenses.md, README badge.
Verified against the upstream artifacts: @live-codes/monaco-languages@0.3.13 ships crystal.js (registers id:"crystal"), @live-codes/codemirror@0.4.5 exports the legacy crystal mode, Prism has prism-crystal, and @live-codes/crystal-wasm@0.2.0 exposes self.crystalWasm.createCompiler({ baseUrl, compileArgs }) with run → { output, errors, exitCode } and dispose, matching the worker glue.
ℹ️ Storybook template story source not updated
Adding a starter template also means adding an entry to storybook/_stories/EmbedOptions/template.ts, the source the per-framework template.stories.ts files are generated from. There is no CrystalWasm entry, so the Crystal template has no Storybook story. The generated framework stories are allowed to lag, but the _stories source is the piece to update.
Technical details
# Add the Crystal template to the Storybook source defs
## Affected sites
- `storybook/_stories/EmbedOptions/template.ts` — no `CrystalWasm: { props: { template: 'crystal-wasm' }, storyName: 'Crystal (Wasm)' }` entry.
## Required outcome
- The Crystal starter appears in Storybook; the generated `storybook/{framework}/stories/EmbedOptions/template.stories.ts` files can be regenerated with `node ./scripts/generate-stories.mts` (not required for CI to pass).ℹ️ Agent skill language reference not updated
.agents/skills/livecodes/language-support/references/languages.md is the single place listing supported languages and aliases, and is expected to be updated when a language is added. It has no Crystal (Wasm) row.
Technical details
# Add a Crystal (Wasm) row to the skill language reference
## Affected sites
- `.agents/skills/livecodes/language-support/references/languages.md` — no `Crystal (Wasm)` row.
## Required outcome
- A row with the `crystal-wasm` name, its aliases (`crystal-wasm`, `cr`, `crystal`), and the Crystal → WASM toolchain note, kept in the file's existing table order. Run prettier afterward (the file is prettier-checked).deepseek-v4.1-flash (free via Pullfrog for OSS) | 𝕏

✅ No new issues found. This re-review covers the delta pushed since the prior pullfrog review — a section reorder and a docs link fix; both are correct.
Reviewed changes
Changes since the prior pullfrog review (e145148 → c0f1c24):
- Reordered the
crystal-wasmsection inlanguage-info.html— moved it betweencpp-wasmandcsharp-wasm, restoring the file's alphabetical-by-data-langordering (crystal<csharp). This resolves the earlier inline comment. - Normalized the Crystal starter link in the docs page — replaced the relative
../getting-started/templates.mdx?template=crystal-wasmlink with the barehttps://livecodes.io/?template=crystal-wasm, matching the convention used by every other language page.
