Secondary tile support for upgrade of OS version?

Pre-condition:
OS version previous to 7.10.8858
One pins his or her agenda to the start screen with the avatar image as the background image.

Question:
When the user upgrades his or her OS version to later 7.10.8858, will the app check and notify the user Iconic tile is available instead of a standard tile? If so, the background image used for the standard tile will be removed?

If you can do this, just do it.

But what do you mean by the background image used for the standard tile? The blue one?
