What changed

Adds conditional account materialization through accessor.require(&expected).materialize(...). MagicRoot compares the complete expected image against live execution state before applying the first patch. A mismatch returns AccountChanged without replacing the account or running follow-up actions.

This lets MBV compute a Magic ATA takeover from a local snapshot without overwriting a concurrent transfer or approval change. Engine also permits Magic → Delegated at the same or a newer slot; SPL balance and approval policy stays in MBV. Deletion remains unconditional.

Adds RENT_FUNDED to the existing account flags so MBV can distinguish rent-backed Magic state from other locally writable accounts. This separates refund eligibility from account mode without adding a mode or changing the account layout.

Impact

The new EngineError::AccountChanged and MagicRootInstruction::CompareAndPatch variants require updates to exhaustive Rust matches. Existing instruction discriminants are unchanged, but replicas replaying the new conditional operation need an updated Engine.

Walkthrough

Magic accounts can now transition directly to Delegated at the same or a newer slot. Account materialization can compare a supplied expected account image before applying patches and actions. A mismatch returns EngineError::AccountChanged. The accessor documentation describes caller validation and reconciliation requirements.

Possibly related issues

  • magicblock-validator issue 1853: The PR adds conditional materialization that can protect account state from concurrent changes during the described ATA takeover.
  • redsuite issue 276: The PR adds compare-and-patch behavior that prevents materialization from applying a patch when the expected account image no longer matches.

Conditional replacement cannot handle oversized images, and skipped replacements do not report conflicts. Clear guidance would help callers handle both cases.

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 100.00% which is sufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 8 functions across 10 files. (3 skipped: 3 unsupported.)

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The pull request description directly matches the main changes: conditional materialization, AccountChanged, CompareAndPatch, and Magic → Delegated support. It also includes one RENT_FUNDED claim that is not reflected in the supplied changeset summary, but the description remains clearly related overall.

to document that the complete expected image must fit within the private V1
instruction’s u16::MAX-byte data limit, so accounts with 65,536 data bytes
cannot use require; state what callers should do when the limit is exceeded.

`require(...).materialize(...)` test: keep account data unchanged while making
the required snapshot’s lamports differ from the live target, then assert
`EngineError::AccountChanged` and verify the target, sponsor, and action
accounts remain unchanged.
