Contributing Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in contributing to this project! Please read these guidelines carefully before submitting any contributions.

⚠️ Credit & Attribution Policy (STRICT)

This is a strict requirement, not a suggestion.

All contributors MUST adhere to the following:

1. Original Author Credit — The project creator, Mayank Basena (@mayank-dev-15), must always be credited as the original author in:

   • The project README
   • Any derivative works
   • Any publications or presentations referencing this code

2. Derivative Works — If you fork, modify, or build upon this project:

   • You MUST include a clear attribution to the original repository
   • You MUST link back to the original: https://github.com/mayank-dev-15/AI-Pentest-Agent
   • You MUST not claim the original work as your own

3. Pull Requests — When submitting PRs:

   • Describe your changes clearly
   • Do not remove or modify existing attribution notices
   • Your contributions will be credited, but the original author retains primary attribution

4. Commercial Use — If using this code commercially:

   • Written permission from the original author is required
   • Proper credit must be displayed prominently

Violations of this policy may result in:

• Rejection of contributions
• DMCA takedown of derivative works
• Reporting to GitHub for license violations

How to Contribute

1. Fork the repository
2. Create a feature branch (git checkout -b feature/your-feature)
3. Make your changes
4. Commit with clear messages (git commit -m "feat: description")
5. Push to your fork (git push origin feature/your-feature)
6. Open a Pull Request

Code Standards

• Follow the existing code style
• Write clear commit messages
• Test your changes before submitting
• Update documentation if needed
