- Derive the retired bootstrap-root name from the running nested snapshot, supporting roots such as
@,@rootfs, and@btrfs. - Mount the retired root by its numeric Btrfs subvolume ID and verify the resolved filesystem-root path after every mount.
- Handle character and block device nodes beneath the retired root's
/devthrough a dedicated deletion queue when the active counterpart has the same type and major/minor numbers. - Recheck verified device nodes immediately before cleanup begins, including safe handling for live
/devlinks such as/dev/ptmx. - Add focused regression tests for root-name derivation, mount selection, and device-node matching.
- Scope nested-subvolume discovery and protection to the dynamically derived retired-root namespace.
- Parse complete Btrfs subvolume paths instead of assuming the path is the final whitespace-delimited field.
- Compare the running snapshot and Btrfs default subvolume by numeric ID.
- Passed cleanup execution and final validation on Debian, Kubuntu, TUXEDO OS, Manjaro, CachyOS, and EndeavourOS.
- Passed additional
@rootfsdiscovery, device-node cleanup, and reboot validation.
- Added a dedicated Unix-domain socket deletion queue after CachyOS exposed stale GnuPG sockets in the retired root.
- Preserved refusal behavior for all other unrecognized special object types.
- Initial release.
