Hi, I've been trying to experiment with Remote control D-Bus commands, - Pause and Play. My expectation is these commands can pause and continue playback remotely to a media player over Airplay. I use iOS for testing, and expect it should work natively for Airplay v2. Unfortunately, nothing happens when I invoke the Play/Pause D-Bus commands. The shairport-sync-dbus-test-client do not react anyhow on remote commands as well. So I believe my expectations are wrong. Could you please help me with a proper guidance? Perhaps this answer is partially answering my question and we don't know how to send control commands back to iOS? This is how busctl looks: The D-Bus Play command from documents/sample dbus commands: |

Thank you for the answer. What is the todays purpose of remote control commands? |
Unfortunately this is a problem we don’t know how to solve. Recent versions of AirPlay do not respond to the remote control commands used in the past. See here for a related discussion.
