Time of Use switch

First off, thanks so much for this piece of work. So looking forward to getting it stitched into my HA automations.
My main use will be to enable/disable overnight charging. I rarely need to change the slot size, I just need to toggle the Time of Use Switch on the Android app/device control or inverter front panel.
I might be missing something, but I don't see the same toggle on the controls exposed when I install the integration on HA. I can see the charge/discharge slots, just not to overall toggle.
Is it hiding under a different name?

I see on the main page screenshot there are individual toggles for each slot, which I dont see, so maybe its a inverter capability thing.
My inverter is a RHI-3.6K-48ES-5G (F5)

Time-slot enable/disable switches are available in firmware that supports six charging/discharging slots (Time Of Use, version 2). For firmware with three slots, set the time slot to 00:00–00:00 to disable charging and discharging. This is only a guess, since my inverter uses six slots.

Thanks for the reply. On the Android app (similar on the web and Inverter front panel) Self-Use Mode page, there is a Time of Use Switch that enables/disables all charge/discharge (when its enabled, a Charge and Discharge option is visible. On that page, there are three slots shown (each with a charge and discharge), and a slider for the charge current for all three, and same for the discharge current. Screen shot attached. Does the API just not expose the Time of Use Switch at all for whatever version of code I have?

It's a bit more complex. "Time of Use Switch" is a part of Storage Mode control. Just yet another bit, like for self use, in-feed priority, backup mode or grid charging.

I could introduce a new control switch for BIT01, but I'm uncertain about its relationship with other bits. Are all combinations valid? For example, can "Time of Use" be changed independently of the currently selected inverter operating mode: self-use, feed-in priority, or off-grid.

Could you experiment a bit with your inverter and check what is allowed/disallowed within the official app?

Useful table- where does that version come from? I found similar info in the grotty spreadsheet attached to one of the bugs on the support page here! I'll have a look at the gui to see what combos are possible. Is there any way of reporting that register contents?

BTW, I did sniff the network traffic when I set the Time Of Use bit and get:

From the web gui, it looks like those bits are spread over a few pages.
The three modes of operation of the inverter called 'WORK MODES' in the GUI are in this register, and Im assuming they are one-hot, as they are listed separately in the GUI, and the bits that are available for control under each are these
BIT00 Self use mode: BIT01 Time of use, BIT05- Allow Grid charging
BIT02 Off grid mode: no bits above controlled
BIT06 Feed in Priority mode: BIT05- Allow Grid charging
In addition , Self use and Feed in priority allow control of a Battery reserve limit via a toggle and slider, to keep a fixed amount in the tank (for predicted power cuts, I guess)
I couldn't find anything that looked like a Battery wake-up switch setting, but it might be called something else.
And I believe the Back-up mode switch is control for the 'emergency power output' UPS feature.
That is controlled by a separate menu in the GUI (backup port enabling setting)

Thanks for investigation. I've prepared basic implementation with Time Of Use Switch control without any restrictions regarding basic modes.

The switch is enabled only for inverters with three charge/discharge slots; on my TOU v2 inverter (with 6 slots), it has no effect.

Wow, that a rapid update. Thanks so much! Guessing I just copy the uncompressed zip over the existing HACS code? (as you may have spotted I'm a HA newbie!

You could install this release via HACS, just select specific version instead of the latest final release. HACS -> redownload -> Need a different version? -> select 2.12 beta and restart HA after installation.

All looks good, scheduled a charge and discharge window in slot 1 and enabled it in HA, and can see this reflected in the Solis app and battery power. Thanks for your fine work! Time for me to set up some automations...
