avrgirl supports the ability to directly write to the eeprom. As such explore the use of this for configuration in order to deal with issues such as ajfisher/node-pixel#93
PoC to be built and then determine go forward.
Presumably will need to implement some modifications to the manifest file to create the appropriate Buffer to write to the EEPROM.
