Key Features & Improvements

• Faster Find/Replace in Files: Files are read on worker threads while the current one is searched; in a test with 48,500 files, a search took 6.0 s instead of 8.7 s. Files that cannot match are ruled out right after reading. The number of threads can be set with LoadThreads in the INI file.
• Faster folder scan and Search Results Window: The folder scan was reworked, and large result sets appear much faster.
• More robust runs: Unreadable folders are skipped and reported instead of ending the scan, and the panel is locked while Find/Replace in Files runs, except for Cancel.
• Safer Replace in Files: Files that changed on disk after being read ahead are read again, so those changes are not overwritten. Files that are too large, cannot be decoded or cannot be written are skipped and reported with the reason.

Fixes

• Closing Notepad++ during Find/Replace in Files no longer crashes. Reopening the panel during Replace in Files no longer changes the running search text.
• Find/Replace in Open Documents returns to the tab you started from and keeps Flow Tabs alignment and column highlighting.
• With the CSV scope, Find/Replace in Files and in Open Documents use each document's own columns.
• Double-clicking a hit in an unsaved tab ("new 1") switches to that tab instead of offering to create a file.
• With word wrap on, the first jump into another file from the Search Results Window now scrolls to the hit.
• Many hits in a very long line of a non-UTF-8 document no longer take minutes to show in the Search Results Window.
• With two views open, the Find what field is filled from the selection of the active view.
• ExprTk formulas with several statements that end in text return that text, and formula error messages no longer show "List entry #?" or "position ?".
• Combo boxes no longer select their text when the panel is resized or dark mode is switched.
• An "&" in the status line is shown instead of underlining the next character.
• Built-in English texts no longer show garbled characters in Notepad++ languages without a MultiReplace translation.
• Translations: Japanese and Traditional Chinese show hit and file counts in the right order, Chinese (Simplified) can copy and open paths again, and the progress text is translated.
• README and formula help updated.
