Hi CL editors,

GO plans to obsolete GO:0071971 (extracellular exosome assembly) and GO:0097734 (extracellular exosome biogenesis), along with related terms. See the obsoletion notice geneontology/go-announcements#1205 and the ticket geneontology/go-ontology#32713.

CL usage. CL:0000558 (reticulocyte) uses GO:0071971 (extracellular exosome assembly) in its logical definition:

intersection_of: CL:0000764 ! erythroid lineage cell
intersection_of: RO:0002215 GO:0071971 (capable of: extracellular exosome assembly)
...
relationship: RO:0002215 GO:0071971

Once GO:0071971 (extracellular exosome assembly) is obsolete, this equivalence axiom will reference an obsolete class. The reference to GO:0097734 (extracellular exosome biogenesis) that Ubergraph shows (capable_of_part_of) appears to be inferred from this axiom through part_of, not asserted in CL.

Suggested replacement. GO:1990182 (exosomal secretion): "The process whereby a membrane-bounded vesicle is released into the extracellular region by fusion of the limiting endosomal membrane of a multivesicular body with the plasma membrane." This is the consider: term on the obsolete GO:0071971 (extracellular exosome assembly), and it fits the reticulocyte definition ("changes the protein composition of its plasma membrane by exosome formation and extrusion"). Swapping RO:0002215 GO:0071971 for RO:0002215 GO:1990182 in both the intersection_of and the relationship should keep the class definition equivalent in intent. Please check the effect on classification in CL.

Thanks!

@ai4cur-agent please fix as suggested - switching to GO:1990182
