Make Tasks: Toggle Task Done work on multiple selected lines

Expected Behavior

When I select multiple tasks and I use Tasks: Toggle Task Done, I expect all tasks to be set to completed or uncompleted depending on the status.
This is how the default action Toggle checkbox status works.
I think adaptation of Obsidian Tasks is easier when it mimics default Obsidian behavior.

Current behaviour

When using Tasks: Toggle Task Done and multiple tasks are selected the last selected task will be completed or uncompleted depending on the status.

Steps to reproduce

For completing:

1. Make multiple tasks
2. Select all tasks
3. Use Tasks: Toggle Task Done
4. Only the last task is completed.

For re-opening

1. Make multiple tasks
2. Select all tasks
3. Use Toggle checkbox status. All tasks are now completed
4. Use Tasks: Toggle Task Done
5. Only the last task is reopened.

Thanks for reporting this. It's a great idea, and would save a lot of time, I'm sure.

However, it isn't a bug (an error in the current implementation), it's a feature request (for new behaviour). So I will convert it to Discussions/Idea.

Implementing this will require a lot of careful testing to manage the case when any of the selected tasks are recurring, as additional lines will be created.

One more difference from Toggle checkbox status: if I do Tasks: Toggle Task Done on simple line of text, it is converted to list item. But it is expected to convert it to task (checkbox), like Toggle checkbox status does.

Thank you. I am not sure, but I think you are re-stating this issue:

• Tasks' toggle command should behave identically to the built-in one, except that it should also add or remove the done date #1158

Love the plug-in. Great work. This inability to toggle task done on multiple lines is the only point of friction I have experienced since I started using it.

I realise this functionality is not very demanding, but perhaps there is kind of a work around exist since August'23?

I am working towards implementing it, but with only 6 votes it’s still low priority. It will happen when the code and tests are ready.
