Context

docs/agents/triage-labels.md still carried its unedited boilerplate, including the footer "Edit the right-hand column to match whatever vocabulary you actually use." It mapped the five canonical triage roles to needs-triage, needs-info, ready-for-agent, ready-for-human and wontfix.

None of those labels exist in this repo. The actual set is:

Bug Duplicate Feature Request Help Wanted Proposal Won't Fix
wayfinder:{map,research,grilling,prototype,task}

An agent following the doc fails on gh issue edit --add-label needs-triage. AGENTS.md compounded it by asserting the roles "map 1:1 to their default label strings" — it is 1:0 for four of the five.

Rationale

Two options: create the four missing labels, or make the doc honest about the ones that exist. This PR takes the second.

The four absent roles encode a workflow — particularly the agent/human implementation split — that this repo's label set has no way to express today. Creating labels to satisfy a document would be inventing process, which is a maintainer's call and not a documentation fix. Help Wanted is the nearest neighbour to ready-for-human, but it means "we want outside help", which is a different claim; the table says so rather than pretending otherwise.

The doc now also lists the six labels actually in use, tells agents to take the action a role implies and skip the label when there is no counterpart, and points at gh label list for verification rather than asking readers to trust a checked-in table.

If the agent/human split is wanted, the right follow-up is to create those labels and revisit this table — happy to do that instead.

Test evidence

Label set read from the live repo with gh label list --limit 100; every entry in the new table is copied from that output, including the spacing and apostrophe in Won't Fix that would otherwise silently fail a label call.

No code changes. Split out of #72, where this was found while checking which labels to apply to #70 and #71.

triage-labels.md still carried its unedited boilerplate, mapping the five
canonical roles to needs-triage, needs-info, ready-for-agent,
ready-for-human and wontfix. None of those labels exist in this repo, so
an agent following the doc fails on `gh issue edit --add-label`.

Only wontfix has a counterpart (Won't Fix). The table now says so, lists
the six labels the repo actually uses, and tells agents to skip the label
rather than invent one. AGENTS.md's "map 1:1" claim is corrected to match.
