Sidebar Width Persistence #12548

I'm working on implementing sidebar width persistence and have done some research, but I'm stuck on getting the preference to actually save and restore. Could someone point me in the right direction?

The preference doesn't seem to be saved or restored. When I test:

• prefs('sidebar-width') returns undefined on load
• After dragging, nothing appears in localStorage
• Page refresh resets to default width

Should I add console log and test the prefs in browser console? Or anything else .
