In Tailwind CSS v4 and above, dark mode using the dark: utility may not work out of the box when using class-based theme switching (e.g., with next-themes or manually toggling .dark on the element). @custom-variant dark (&:where(.dark, .dark *)); in styles/global.css in next js fixes this
