information on the flasher you are using

I coincidentally just today came into possession of one of these devices myself, and found your work from your post on reddit ;P. It felt very serendipitous that you started doing this just in the past couple weeks!

Would you be willing to tell me more about the flasher you are using, so I can catch up to where you are with respect to flashing the device?

Oh cool, I think I've heard your name before! Considering just how quickly the app was removed from the store, the potential so many inputs have and the ESP32 being visible, it's really surprising no one looked at it before.

I'm using an FTDI232, the pins matched up exactly with the exposed ones on the board. Can upload a photo of the exact one if you need but I imagine it's a standardised layout?
Would bear in mind that I was very much starting from scratch here so nothing I've posted is very reliable, I hadn't even worked with shift registers before this. Genuinely surprised I managed to get the buttons working, was pure intuition!
Looking forward to seeing what someone who actually has an idea of what they're at unearths!

Also, in case it's of relevance to you, I backed up the firmware; don't want to share that publicly but here are some details:

• backup command: esptool.py -b 115200 --port [port_name] read_flash 0x0 0x400000 flash_4M.bin

I've seen some mentions online of people having issues where the app told them they had to update the board firmware so it's possible there's multiple versions floating round (or it might just be that the server the app relied on went offline before the app did). I'll back up my second board when it arrives.
