We want participation in this project to be a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, caste, colour, religion, political views, or sexual identity and orientation.
This project builds infrastructure for public scrutiny across institutions and viewpoints. We hold ourselves to the same standard we ask of the software: be accurate, attribute claims, and disagree on the merits.
Examples of behaviour that contributes to a positive environment:
- Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints and experiences
- Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback
- Taking responsibility for mistakes, apologising to those affected, and learning from them
- Focusing on what is best for the community and the people who rely on public records
Examples of unacceptable behaviour:
- Sexualised language or imagery, or unwelcome sexual attention or advances
- Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
- Public or private harassment
- Publishing others' private information, such as a physical or email address, without explicit permission (doxxing)
- Using project spaces to campaign for or against a political party or candidate
- Other conduct that could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting
This Code of Conduct applies in all project spaces (issues, pull requests, discussions and chat) and when an individual officially represents the project in public spaces.
Report unacceptable behaviour privately to the project maintainers at conduct@pardarsh.example (placeholder: replace with a monitored address before publishing). All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly, and maintainers will respect the privacy and security of the reporter.
Maintainers may take any action they consider appropriate, including:
- Correction: a private, written warning explaining why the behaviour was inappropriate.
- Warning: a warning with consequences for continued behaviour.
- Temporary ban: a temporary ban from interaction in project spaces.
- Permanent ban: a permanent ban from project spaces.
This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1.
