Session log. Records:

• The retraction. The MCP-Adapter shim chain (The ChatGPT tool-discovery shim ships in no build channel #111/fix: ship the ChatGPT tool-discovery shim in every build (#111) #112) was not Mark's bug — his own report says Transport: Saddle built-in JSON-RPC. rc6 was worth shipping and was never his fix. Also corrects the earlier line saying rc5 was never published; it was.
• What the capture proves: two requests, both 401 at the transport gate, no initialize and no tools/list in the window. Authentication, full stop.
• The connection self-check probes Basic only, so a stripped Bearer reads as healthy #121 — the self-check probed Basic only, so a host that forwards Basic and drops Bearer read as healthy. That is the exact shape of "Claude works, ChatGPT 401s", and it means "Claude works, so the header is fine" was an inference our own code was licensing.
• The client-traffic recorder floods its own trace and can't name the credential scheme #120 — the panel recorded its own polling (23 of his 25 rows), and scheme had been recorded and rendered nowhere since the recorder shipped.
• Two tests that passed for the wrong reason, including one I wrote this session.
• rc7 published and verified live, including that the zip the channel actually serves contains the updater.
