Bug description
Hi, I just found out that you are now shipping a standalone .flatpak file on your releases. Happy to see that! (Although still not yet on flathub, I was happy to give it a try 👀 #1301).
Steps to reproduce this
Anyway, I downloaded the .flatpak file, then ran
flatpak install processing-4.5.3-linux-x64.flatpak
Opened the app drawer, and the app shows with a generic icon.

This other issue on the snap version might be related. #1331

Hi @catilac, I saw this just now.
Hence I went ahead and installed 4.5.5, unfortunately, I still cannot see the desktop icon. I'm happy to share logs or provide help. I'm not sure what the problem could be. I'll try a VM later, see if that works.

I just tried a debian trixie VM and can confirm that the desktop icon does not show up with 4.5.5. I'll wait for the next release that includes the pull you just linked.

Hi @catilac, I went ahead and tried instlling 4.5.6 on my laptop but the desktop icon is still missing. I made sure to uninstalled the previous version and used flatsweep to remove all leftover data.
I also tried installing on an empty VM, debian 13. The icon is still missing. Please consider reopening this issue. Cheers.

Hi @catilac, I was having a closer look at this issue and it appears that the line that installs the icon file is commented out here https://github.com/processing/processing4/commits/main/app/linux/flathub.yml Perhaps this is deliberate, and I don't know if this will fix the issue though. But it seems like a potential fix. I don't have the dev environment to build the flatpak file.
