Is there an estimated date for the next release?

Hi team, Could someone please share whether there is an estimated timeline or target date for the next release?

The maintainers do not publish target dates for releases.

Recent cadence for reference (from the Releases page):

• 1.28.2 — Aug 6, 2026
• 1.28.0 — Jun 29, 2026
• 1.27.2.x — Mar/Apr 2026

So roughly every 1-2 months, but there is no fixed schedule.

Best way to track:

1. Watch the repo: https://github.com/pymupdf/PyMuPDF/releases (Releases -> Watch -> Custom -> Releases)
2. Check the changelog: https://pymupdf.readthedocs.io/en/latest/changes.html
3. pip index versions pymupdf will show the latest published to PyPI.

If you are waiting on a specific fix, link the issue/PR number and a maintainer can usually say whether it is queued for the next release.
