Project Template Base

This project uses copier to provide Python and JavaScript project templates. See our homepage for more information.

pip install copier
copier copy https://github.com/python-project-templates/base.git path/to/new/project

Note

Install the Python Templates Copier Update GitHub App on repositories generated from this template to receive weekly template update pull requests.

One selector chooses a template:

• Python / Pure generates a pure Python package from python/pure/.
• Python / Cython generates a Python package with compiled .py and .pyx modules from python/cython/.
• Python / C++ generates a Python/C++ package with pybind11 bindings or standalone C++ code from python/cpp/.
• Python / JavaScript generates a Python package with a self-contained JavaScript frontend from python/js/.
• Python / Rust generates a Python package with Rust bindings via PyO3 from python/rust/.
• Python / Jupyter Widget generates a Python package with a Jupyter extension from python/jupyter/.
• Python / Rust + JavaScript + WebAssembly generates a Rust package with Python and WebAssembly bindings from python/rustjswasm/.
• Python / C++ + JavaScript + WebAssembly generates a C++ package with Python and WebAssembly bindings from python/cppjswasm/.
• JavaScript / UI Toolkit / Svelte generates a Svelte package with shared design tokens, components, and a demo app from javascript/uitk-svelte/.
• JavaScript / UI Toolkit / Lit + Web Awesome generates Lit custom elements with Web Awesome, shared design tokens, and a demo app from javascript/uitk-webawesome/.
• JavaScript / Site / React generates a React site with Vite, Vitest, and Playwright from javascript/site-react/.
• JavaScript / Site / SvelteKit generates a SvelteKit site with static or Node deployment from javascript/site-sveltekit/.
• JavaScript / Site / Web Awesome generates a Vite and TypeScript site using Web Awesome components from javascript/site-webawesome/.
