Summary

This PR improves search engine optimization and AI answer visibility for the component library documentation at reflex.dev/docs/library/, implementing 5 key changes based on the SEO audit.

Changes

1. Title Template Enhancement

  • Component pages now include "Python" in the title format: rx.data_table: Python Data Table Component · Reflex (previously Data Table · Tables And Data Grids · Library · Reflex Docs)
  • Category pages remain descriptive: Tables And Data Grids Component Library · Reflex Docs
  • Fixed double spaces in category names:
    • Data Display → Data Display
    • Dynamic Rendering → Dynamic Rendering
    • Tables And Data Grids → Tables And Data Grids
    • Other Charts → Other Charts

2. Library Index Page (/docs/library/)

  • Updated title to Python UI Component Library · Reflex
  • Added answer-first intro highlighting 100+ components, Python-only development, and Tailwind CSS integration
  • Added framework comparison explaining how Reflex components differ from Streamlit, NiceGUI, and Gradio
  • Added 6-question FAQ covering:
    • Can I use components without learning React?
    • Do components work with pandas DataFrames?
    • Can I style components with custom CSS?
    • Are components accessible?
    • Can I wrap my own React components?
    • Do I need to install components separately?

3. Tables and Data Grids Category

  • Enhanced category description to mention all 4 table options (rx.table, rx.data_table, rx.data_editor, AG Grid)
  • Added "Which table component should I use?" guide with clear use cases for each option
  • Linked to AG Grid enterprise docs
  • Expanded data_table.md with:
    • Separate sections for pandas DataFrames, sorting, pagination, and search
    • Working code examples for each feature
    • Complete stateful example
    • Links to related table components and AG Grid

4. Charts Category Pages

  • Added "Choosing a charting library" guide on both Charts and Other Charts pages
  • Compared Recharts, Plotly, Matplotlib, and AG Charts with clear use cases
  • Added links to AG Charts enterprise docs
  • Expanded pyplot.md with:
    • "Why use Matplotlib in a web app?" section
    • Common use cases (dashboards, scientific reports, ML monitoring, financial analysis, engineering tools)
    • Links to Recharts and Plotly component pages
    • Retained existing content to preserve Create CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md #1 ranking for "pyplot"

5. Meta Descriptions

  • Fixed descriptions that started mid-sentence or with event-trigger text:
    • Checkbox: "Add checkboxes to Python web forms with Reflex..."
    • Drawer: "Build slide-out panels and sidebars in Python..."
    • Dialog: "Create modal dialogs in Python with Reflex..."
    • Blockquote: "Add semantic blockquotes to your Python web app..."
    • Code: "Display inline code snippets in Python..."
    • Hover Card: "Display rich hover cards in Python..."
  • Made Select and Select Low Level descriptions unique:
    • Select: "Build dropdown select menus in Python... high-level rx.select component..."
    • Select Low Level: "Build custom dropdown select menus in Python... low-level rx.select API..."

Testing

All Python files compile without syntax errors:

python3 -m py_compile reflex_docs/pages/docs/metadata.py
python3 -m py_compile reflex_docs/pages/docs/library.py
python3 -m py_compile reflex_docs/pages/library_previews.py

Type of change

  • Documentation update
  • New feature (non-breaking change which adds functionality to documentation)

New Feature Submission:

  • Have you linted your code locally prior to submission?

Notes

  • All code examples follow existing patterns and use working Reflex syntax
  • Writing is plain and human, avoiding marketing fluff
  • Changes target SEO keywords identified in the audit (python ui library, python data table, python chart library, etc.)
  • FAQ section on library index uses standard heading markup (could be enhanced with FAQPage JSON-LD if the docs template supports it)

P1 Category cards disappear

Renaming component_category changes the dictionary lookup, not just the displayed label. resolve_doc_route still stores components under names such as Tables-And-Data-Grids, but this page now looks up Tables And Data Grids. The dictionaries return an empty list for the new names, so Data Display, Dynamic Rendering, Tables and Data Grids, and Other Charts lose all their component cards. Keep the original keys and normalize only the displayed labels.

P2 Titles show wrong component names

title is a readable heading, not a Python component name. For example, Data Table produces rx.data table: Python Data Table Component, rather than the promised rx.data_table title. This advertises a name users cannot call. Use the actual component name from the page metadata instead of lowercasing the heading.

P2 FAQ names the wrong package

The FAQ tells readers to install reflex-ag-grid, but the enterprise installation guide requires reflex-enterprise. Replace the package name and link to that guide so readers can follow the supported setup for AG Grid and AG Charts.

P2 Description promises unsupported search

The new description says high-level rx.select creates searchable dropdowns. It does not provide that feature; this same page explains that search needs a custom implementation using the low-level API. Remove “searchable” so search results do not promise a feature the component does not offer.

P2 New wrappers break app conventions

The new category branches add four rx.box wrappers. The docs app guide requires rx.el.* elements with Tailwind instead of rx.box or rx.text. Use rx.el.div for these wrappers to meet the repository requirement before merging.

P2 Category grids repeat existing code

Both new branches copy the existing component-card loop and grid wrapper. The repository guide requires duplicated code to be extracted into parameterized helpers. Keep one shared card grid and vary only the guide content above it. This requirement needs to be met before merging; otherwise future card fixes must be repeated in three places.

P2 New title behavior lacks tests

The new library-specific title branch has no matching tests. The repository guide requires tests for changed features, but the existing name-preservation test only calls a non-library route. Add cases for multiword component names and category pages with explicit titles before merging to meet that requirement.
