RFC 6890 defines the registry and its fields, but the tables printed in it are a snapshot taken at publication. The IANA Considerations section cited only the RFC, which is the wrong place to look for current contents.

Now cites both, and says which does what: RFC 6890 for the definition, the live registry for what is actually assigned.

New informative reference IANA-IPV4-SPECIAL, pointing at https://www.iana.org/assignments/iana-ipv4-special-registry/.

From adoption-call review (T. Petch).

Incidental check while confirming the URL: 192.0.0.11/32 is still unassigned in the live registry. The neighbouring assignments are 192.0.0.8/32, 192.0.0.9/32, 192.0.0.10/32, 192.0.0.170/32 and 192.0.0.171/32, so the value suggested in IANA Considerations remains available. Worth knowing ahead of the #27 early-allocation request.

RFC 6890 defines the IPv4 Special-Purpose Address Registry and
its fields, but the tables it contains are a snapshot taken at
publication. Cite the live registry alongside it, and say which
of the two carries current contents.

New informative reference: IANA-IPV4-SPECIAL.
