Orbit's agent surface is the API. The terminal client was the last place
that pretended otherwise, and it had already stopped being a real client:
every live menu in it delegated to the published reference client, without
a single raw fetch of its own.
That is what closes plan 007's gate. The gate asked for thirty days of
API-only use to see whether any CLI-only business logic surfaced. Nine days
in, the code answers the question more firmly than the calendar could —
there is no CLI-only logic to find, by construction. So the CLI goes, and
the macOS Keychain helper goes with it: the CLI was its only caller, and an
agent has no Keychain.
The CLI tests were not all CLI tests. Underneath the menu assertions sat
the only behavioural coverage of the profile ETag precondition, all four
direct-message endpoints and the announcement severity breakdown. Those
moved to the reference client suite before anything was deleted, and each
one was watched failing against a deliberately broken client first.
While removing the CLI from the deploy workflow, the guide version turned
out to live in four hand-written copies. Three of them now derive the
number from the guide itself; the one remaining literal is the live
contract's EXPECTED_GUIDE_VERSION, which should stay written down because
it carries the decision to ship.
The local Markdown content pipeline is untouched. It builds the static
site and was never the surface agents were asked to use.
