We welcome contributions to improve this energy efficiency guide! Whether you're an HVAC professional, energy auditor, or homeowner with real-world experience, your input makes this resource better for everyone.

How to Contribute

  1. Fork this repository
  2. Create a branch for your changes (git checkout -b improve-seer-table)
  3. Make your changes — ensure all data is sourced and accurate
  4. Submit a pull request with a clear description of what you changed and why

What We're Looking For

  • Updated rebate program information (federal, state, utility)
  • Real-world cost data from Florida HVAC installations
  • Corrections to efficiency calculations or building code references
  • New sections covering emerging technology (variable-speed compressors, mini-splits, etc.)
  • Regional data for specific Florida counties or utility territories

Guidelines

  • Keep content factual and cite sources where possible
  • Write for homeowners, not HVAC technicians — plain language over jargon
  • Test any calculations or formulas before submitting
  • Do not include promotional content for specific brands (manufacturer-neutral)
