OpenBSD Errata 7.6

Hi,

In the description it is mentioned : "Also note that UTMFW 7.6 comes with OpenBSD 7.6-stable including all updates until October 18th, 2024."
After installation, can I do a syspatch on the system? Or is there a GUI to apply OpenBSD errata?

Not sure if OpenBSD syspatch works on UTMFW, never tried. It may fail because a couple of binaries on UTMFW are different, as we change a couple of system utilities/tools, such as syslogd or newsyslog. The others are the same, so it may work on them. Have you tried yourself yet?

I'm using friend's acct... Installed (took many tries while learning) the current 7.7 amd64 version via usb-img on bare hw... When trying syspatch, received error msg: "syspatch: Unsupported release: 7.7-stable" ... Which is correct since afaict, the version created is based on 7.7 (release) GENERIC.MP#1... just fyi...

Was able to successfully syspatch by commenting out the check/error line... First syspatch then went through... next, reenabled error line and should be ok now... Hth, h.

Thanks for trying syspatch on UTMFW. I'm glad syspatch works like that.

But users should be careful if syspatch updates syslogd and newsyslog. Because, as I mentioned in my previous message, we modify those utilities/tools for UTMFW, and the original or updated binaries may cause issues in for example log parsers of UTMFW. See the patches we apply here.
