The apps.yaml template was supplied in #1331 Certainly for that author it was working. I can only suggest you try mapping the entities that the integration provides to what predbat requires as documented in https://springfall2008.github.io/batpred/apps-yaml/ |

Thank for the reply. I think the integration has markedly changed and that there is an easier way to commence the charge and dishcharge that doesn't use all the timers! Here is where I am so far, but am awaiting my batteries to be added next week. I will report back with a more streamlined apps.yaml file to the thread you identified if I get a better version! |

I have done some work with the apps.yaml for the SunSynk integration at https://kellerza.github.io/sunsynk/ The one on the PredBat documentation page bears no relation to how the current SunSynk integration presents the entities! I had to set up a single automation to copy the charge limit to all the timers. (at end) Can I list multiple charge limit entities within the apps.yaml to avoid this? I have this running in monitor mode and I am semi-confident it will work after some manual testing! Will report back in due course. Grateful for feedback! Automation to sync SoC across all the timers |

Great work, tanks for sharing. I notice you're not specifying: Is this set elsewhere or do you find it's not needed? I am getting the below error on Sunsynk and can't work it out! Warn: Cannot find battery discharge curve (no full rate discharge curve found for battery to empty), one of the required settings for soc_percent, discharge_rate, battery_power and predbat.status do not have history, check apps.yaml |

Hi @gorstj, thanks for posting your apps.yaml and the timer-sync automation, really useful. Did you get it working any better since your last post? Specifically: is it running in active control now (not just monitor mode), and have you made any further refinements to the apps.yaml? |

Hi @gorstj - i'm trying to setup a friend's SunSynk hybrid 16kw inverter with PB. I'm using the same integration as you above, and am doing so via a waveshare rs485 poe modbus adapter. I have found most comparable sensors/entities you have mentioned, with the exception of: 1.timed_charge_current: Also, I noticed in Trefor's Sunsynk example apps yaml, he referred to:
Can you help me work out how you dealt with these please? I've just compared the Cloud/Dongle based entities and I do seem to have the missing ones available there, however I'd really prefer we keep it all local and via the Modbus route if possible? Thanks in advance. |

I don’t have any SOC automation - I think that is unnecessary with my method all works smoothly and without a hitch! I’m not sure if it is reflected in the above config, but I have a separate non-hybrid inverter so I needed to do some maths for house power using helpers. |
|
@gorstj - i'm nearly there! (taken long enough lol). Question regarding the timed charge and discharge current entities... timed_charge_current:
Do you find predbat raises/lowers the current value? If so, does it do it sensibly for you? I'm finding it changing the values undesirably. For example this morning it charged the battery to the expected soc of 83%, but lowered the discharge current to 0A meaning it refused to discharge to cover the house load before PV started, resulting in grid import at peak rate, until the sun rose. As predbat controls the min soc and the work mode, i wonder if these two entities are even needed for predat? i'd rather they stay at max current so inverter can be fully utilised...i'm going to comment them out and monitor. Thoughts? |

Following up on this thread as it's very relevant — I have a Deye SUN-12K-SG05LP3-EU connected via Solar Assistant (not the kellerza integration), using @gorstj @gcoan — your approach of parking all timers at 00:00 and only controlling one slot via Does the SA driver's |

Following up on my last post — I've now confirmed the write path works for charging (select.inverters_1_program_point_2 → "Charge" via charge_start_service). For discharge/export, I don't have an equivalent "Discharge" mode option — my program points only offer General/Backup/Charge. I do have separate switch.inverters_1_sell_point_1..6 entities (currently all "off") that seem to control whether export is allowed per TOU slot. Does forcing discharge with the SK inverter type on this kind of Deye/Sunsynk setup mean combining mode="General" + sell_point switch=on + a lower capacity target, or is there a different expected mechanism I'm missing? |

Uh oh!

Can anyone share a working apps.yaml template for SunSynk?
The one at https://github.com/springfall2008/batpred/blob/main/templates/sunsynk.yaml seems to bear no relation to my entities using the SunSynk integration https://github.com/kellerza/sunsynk
Any pointers gladly received!
