Can I switch Predbat to 'Without Predbat' mode?
#3772
This seems counter intuitive, but I am going to ask it anyway.
Is there a way to tell Predbat to schedule charging and discharging based on the assumptions it makes to calculate the 'costs without predbat' chart?
The reason I ask, is that despite weeks of tinkering with settings, Predbat still tells me that it is costing me money overall (£38 in the last 2 weeks). I dont doubt this is down to something I have misconfigured. I confess, I am getting frustrated with the tinkering, but I dont want to give up on what should be a perfect fit for me. I stopped changing things about a week ago, just to allow the data to settle, but its still losing money most days.
The other issue I have, is that currently I am averaging 400+ register writes a day and that cant be good for my inverter.
I would really like to tell predbat to keep calculating its potential savings, whilst I mess with settings, without it costing me money and messing up my inverters eeprom.
I know I can switch it to 'Monitor only' but I presume that will then not schedule any charging or discharging of my batteries or pay any attention to the Solcast predictions. What I think I really want is a Predcast Dumb mode :-)
For background, I have 5.6kW solar panels, 30kWh of battery, seperate Solis inverters for solar and battery, 30kWh of battery, iPace EV, Octopus Intelligent Go and Zappi charger. Average daily power usage is 60kWh including the car charge.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be gratefully received.
No, I've not tried Read Only, as I assume that will not charge my batteries overnight etc without me creating an automation of some kind. That would work if I knew how to duplicate what 'Without Predbat' was presuming I guess.
Just a side note. Last night, IOG changed my time slots part way through the night. That seems to happen quite often now. The consequence of that was that the batteries didnt charge early on in the 23:30 to 05:30 window, I assume because there was a 7:30 to 9:30 window available. That windows appears to have been removed when it was too late for predbat to compensate, so I ended up with a flat battery for my 'peak' breakfast and shower window. No wonder poor Predbat is losing me money.
