Yes you can set the value dynamically and predbat will use the latest value of the input_number when it recalculates the plan every 10 minutes (and in fact you changing the input_number will quite probably force a replan anyway)
Predbat should be deducting the predicted iboost energy from your for future load prediction. It wouldn't know the history of that value, it would be using the latest value, but I don't think you are asking that, you are asking about the future load prediction.
That doesn't sound right https://springfall2008.github.io/batpred/predbat-plan-card/#understanding-the-predbat-plan - suggest you raise a github issue on that, include copy of your debug.yaml, logfile and plan to show the error |
Uh oh!

Does iBoost require predbat_iboost_max_energy to be a constant value throughout the day?
If I have a template that calculates the remaining energy capacity of my water tank in kWh (based on current water temperature, max water temperature, and tank size in litres), and an automation to update input_number.predbat_iboost_max_energy to that value half-hourly, will iBoost work correctly?
And will "subtract iboost energy from load predictions" correctly subtract the dynamic predbat_iboost_max_energy value from the load predictions?
Also, in the Predbat plan iBoost column, I see the planned kWh for iBoost, but the value is just repeated until the end of the day. Is this correct (I assume not because it totals to a very large number, and extends well past the time solar is available) or do I have an error in my setup?
