Understanding how inverter_limit_export works

I set inverter_limit_export: 400 in my apps.yaml
I was expecting this export limit to only kick in if I manually force an export. i.e. if I manually force a slot to export.
But it doesn't. Instead it overrides all exports in any Predbat driven export slots as well.

Is this the intended function of this configuration variable?

My apps.yaml section is below.

  inverter_limit: 8000
  export_limit: 4000
  inverter_limit_charge: 7000
  inverter_limit_discharge: 4000
  inverter_limit_export: 400

a manual force export is you telling predbat to set a particular slot to force export mode, then from a plan perspective it is no different from predbat planning an export activity

the inverter export limit is applied for all predbat initiated exporting, the point in the documentation is that it doesn't set a limit when in Eco mode, i.e. your inverter is exporting excess solar that isn't being charged into the battery.
