I found the LSP4IJ plugin by Red Hat (https://github.com/redhat-developer/lsp4ij), but it only works via stdio (so not on Windows). I haven't tested it yet.

PhpStorm already has a mature Symfony Support plugin covering everything we have here (and maybe even more), so I'm not sure it's worth the effort.

running it via PhpStorm, install "LSP4IJ" plugin, add a lsp server with the binary and add the mapping extension.
But to be honest its really not worth replacing a native plugin with lsp.

I would be fine about a docu, with recommendation to install the native plugin, but user should decide. For an agent i added the clickpath:

@fabpot I would at least address that there is already support via the SF plugin in PHPStorm in the readme. Because I was looking for that and did not find it, and ended up here.
