While traditional inference frameworks benchmark individual models in complete isolation (e.g. evaluating only LLM tokens/sec or Image diffusion step latency), real-world production pipelines never run a single model alone. Arc MultiModal Studio transforms intel-arc-models-runner into an Autonomous AI Agentic Production Studio & Adaptive Hardware Co-Benchmarking Suite that orchestrates Text (LLM), Audio (Kokoro TTS), and Visual (SDXL & LTX-Video) engines locally on Intel heterogeneous silicon.
A user supplies a single natural-language instruction:
"Ek 30-second ka educational video banao quantum physics par, sath me uska voiceover (dubbing) ho, background script ho, aur visual slides ho."
Our multi-agent orchestration engine executes the full production lifecycle 100% on local Intel hardware:
- Director Agent (LLM: Qwen2.5 / Llama 3 on Intel NPU/GPU): Dissects the brief into timestamped scene breakdowns with narration dialogue, visual conditioning prompts, and camera motion instructions.
-
Sound Engineer Agent (Kokoro TTS on Intel NPU/GPU): Synthesizes high-fidelity
.wavvoiceover audio with zero-drift phoneme timing. -
Cinematographer & Slide Compositor (OpenVINO GenAI SDXL / LTX-Video / Educational Slide Compositor on Intel Arc GPU): Synthesizes broadcast-grade 16:9 HD (
1280x720) visual scenes featuring dynamic physics simulations (Fraunhofer double-slit diffraction, Bohr-Sommerfeld atomic orbitals, quantum wave packets), Voronoi collision-free HUD layout, and universal Dirac mathematical notation. -
USM Zero-Copy Inter-Engine Bridge: Passes intermediate video and audio tensor pointers across memory boundaries in Unified Shared Memory, measuring handoff speed in microseconds (
$\le 50 , \mu\text{s}$ ). -
Timeline Compositor & Container Muxer: Applies a closed-loop pacing convergence algorithm to eliminate audio-video desync and exports a broadcast-ready
.mp4video container.
| Bottleneck & Production Hurdle | Naive Industry Approach | Arc MultiModal Studio Solution | Verified Metric & Advantage |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. VRAM Exhaustion / Memory Wall | Running LLM + Video + TTS concurrently on GPU causes PCIe paging and memory thrashing. |
Heterogeneous Compute Splitting: Dispatches LLM Director and Kokoro TTS to Intel AI Boost NPU / Host CPU ( |
|
| 2. Host-Device Data Copy Overhead | Intermediate frames & audio are saved to disk or serialized across IPC sockets, adding |
Level Zero USM Zero-Copy Bridge: Directly wraps pinned host/device virtual memory buffers into zero-copy views without buffer replication. |
|
| 3. Audio-Video Temporal Phase Drift | Naive audio trimming chops spoken words; naive video stretching causes optical motion judder. |
Closed-Loop Pacing Convergence: Measures duration discrepancy |
Post-convergence drift |
| 4. LLM JSON Parsing Failures | LLM conversational filler, unescaped quotes, or broken markdown crash the pipeline. |
Dual-Stage AST Auto-Repair: Regex isolates boundary tokens (<<<STUDIO_PLAN_START>>>), auto-balances braces, strips trailing commas, with heuristic segmentation fallback. |
|
| 5. Level Zero Command Queue Deadlock | Simultaneous concurrent kernel dispatches serialize or trigger driver timeouts (TDR). | Fork-Join Concurrency Barrier: Isolated hardware command streams on NPU and GPU joined asynchronously via asyncio barrier. | Zero driver queue contention or kernel stalls. |
Provenance status: UNVERIFIED illustration. The cloud prices, cloud latencies, local latencies, payback periods and the "850 runs" figure below were not measured by this project and are not tied to any result file. Third-party prices change and are not verified here. The software no longer emits them:
cloud_cost_saved_usd,cloud_comparison_usd_per_runandhardware_payback_runsareNoneunless the caller supplies prices (run_co_benchmark(cloud_cost_per_run_usd=..., hardware_cost_usd=...)), and the audio/video RTF and LLM tok/s fields stayNonebecause the co-benchmark does not measure them. Real numbers come from schema-v1 result files (method).
Running multi-modal pipelines on cloud APIs introduces compounding per-second costs, network transfer latency, and data privacy risks. Arc Studio provides a zero-cost, air-gapped on-premise alternative:

An Intel Arc GPU costing $$250\text{--}$350$ pays for itself in less than 850 video generation runs.
Standard single-model benchmarks (e.g. measuring just LLM tokens/sec or SDXL generation time) hide the most critical performance bottlenecks:
- Inter-Engine Data Transfer: Single benchmarks ignore the latency of moving 100MB+ video tensors between models. Arc Studio benchmarks USM zero-copy latency down to the microsecond.
- Cross-Silicon Resource Contention: Single benchmarks cannot detect when GPU VRAM allocation starves NPU command queues. Arc Studio measures true co-execution throughput.
-
Audio-Video Pacing Drift: Single benchmarks cannot detect if a video model is running too fast or slow relative to speech cadence. Arc Studio reports true temporal drift (
$\Delta$ ).
