Thunderbird 20 immediatly crashes after launching with Android 6 version #11189
I didn't use TfA 18, but it was running well with TfA 17.x, that's obvious.
Following the way for collecting logs, the command "adb shell ps -A | findstr net.thunderbird.android" doesn't reply anything, so I can't get any "PID", sorry.
adb devies is ok, but this command line only returns to the adb prompt. 😶
Thank you for reporting this, and we apologize for the trouble. We have already received similar reports regarding this issue. Google has begun phasing out support for Android 6 within the platform libraries we rely on, which is likely causing the problems you are experiencing. Because these changes are occurring within the external libraries provided by Google, there is no fix we can implement within the app to resolve them.
While we intended to maintain support for Android 6 through the end of the year, this is no longer possible. Thunderbird for Android 25 will be the final version compatible with Android 6. Starting with version 26, Android 7 or newer will be required. We understand this is disappointing and apologize for the impact this has on your device usage.
