Quick clarification first — when you said "could you try building this?", did you mean compiling the APK locally in Android Studio and testing it, or are you inviting me to try implementing the feature as a contributor? New Feature Request — External File Manager Integration:
One thing I'd love to see is the confirmation dialog triggering directly when a user taps an APK from an external file manager (like MiXplorer, Solid Explorer, Files by Google, etc.), without fully opening the VInstall app UI. Essentially, VInstall would intercept the install intent and display only the confirmation dialog (Bottom Sheet or Alert Dialog, based on the user's chosen style in settings) right there on the spot — so the user never leaves their file manager. This would make VInstall feel much more seamless and native, similar to how the stock MIUI or stock Android installer behaves.

Enhancements to the Confirmation Dialog itself:
It would also be awesome if the confirmation dialog displayed richer information before the user commits to installing, such as:

• 📦 Package name
• 🔢 Version name & version code (build number)
• ⬆️⬇️ Whether it's an upgrade or downgrade compared to the currently installed version, and if possible a summary of what's changing
• 📊 A real-time install progress percentage after confirming

Other Feature Ideas:

• 🔔 Toast / Snackbar messages — e.g. "Installation complete ✓" or "Installation failed" with a brief reason
• 📲 Post-install "Open App" button — right after a successful install, like the stock installer offers
• 🔕 Silent install notifications — a system notification when a Root or Shizuku background install finishes
• 🗂️ Batch install — select and queue multiple APKs at once from the file picker
• 🕓 Install history log — a simple list of recently installed packages with timestamps
• 🌗 Consistent dialog theming — ensuring Bottom Sheet and Alert Dialog always follow the app's Light/Dark theme setting correctly across all devices
• 👆 Swipe to dismiss — swipe down on the Bottom Sheet to cancel before installing

Hey @DreDay10000! Haha sorry for the confusion, that was a typo lol (T~T) I was in the car when I typed that, I meant "could you try this debug build?" so just download and test the APK as a user, no need to fire up Android Studio or anything XD

As for the contributor thing, I'll think about it for now and let you know! :)

And those feature requests are genuinely awesome :D the external file manager integration idea especially, that's exactly the native feel I'm going for. Everything noted! Enhancements to the Confirmation Dialog and Real-time Progress should coexist in the confirmation dialog. Meaning I'm only seeing real-time progress in the app only as of now and not inside file managers. Also, I am not seeing the Alert Dialog style function at all. Only Bottom Sheet style is being shown at the moment. As far as enhancements go, for starters, the Shizuku installer app from vvb2060 is a good representation of showing version number/build code upgrades/no change/downgrades for each apk install. All in all, everything else (silent install notifications, toasts, history log, swipe to dismiss, theming) seem good. So here I'll post screenshots of the Shizuku package installer by vvb2060 to give you an idea of a simple, yet rich confirmation dialog for users. Keep in mind because of my Galaxy S9+/Android 10 config. I'm not able to show downgrades and also had to result to a fork to get the latest vvb2060 installer to work. Only because I've had no luck communicating with the developer. Anyways, keep up the good work @lenzarchive !

Oh one more thing I did run the debug build through Claude AI for analysis. If you want I can give you a formatted message from Claude to aid you with improvements/fixes. Just let me know!

Analysis – Claude Sonnet 4.6 Adaptive Thinking

Here's what I found from analyzing the APK:
✅ What lenzarchive DID implement (credit where it's due):

• Bottom Sheet + Alert Dialog style selector in Settings ✓
• Install History screen (with Upgrade/Downgrade/Reinstall labels) ✓
• "Open App" button post-install ✓
• Install Notifications setting ✓
• Min SDK / Target SDK shown ✓
• Crash Logs viewer ✓
• External file manager intent handler exists (activity_install_intent.xml) ✓

❌ What's missing or broken:

• The Alert Dialog (custom_dialog.xml) is barely implemented — it's just an empty layout with a single "Ok" button. The Bottom Sheet got all the love, the Alert Dialog got almost none
• The external file manager intent screen (activity_install_intent.xml) is essentially empty — just a blank coordinator layout, meaning when you tap an APK from your file manager, you likely get launched into the full app instead of a floating dialog
• No progress percentage in the confirmation dialogs
• No package name displayed in the confirmation dialog before install
• Duplicate string inconsistencies: "Installation complete" and "Installation complete." both exist, same with "Installation failed: %1$s" and "Installation failed: %s" — this suggests different parts of the app report results inconsistently

Alert Dialog style is incomplete
The Bottom Sheet is well laid out, but the Alert Dialog (custom_dialog.xml) appears to be a bare placeholder — just an empty layout with a single "Ok" button. It doesn't match the richness of the Bottom Sheet at all. Ideally both styles should display the same information and feel equally polished.

So when tapping an APK from a file manager, users are likely getting launched into the full VInstall UI instead of a clean floating confirmation dialog. The goal here would be to show only the confirmation dialog (respecting the user's chosen style — Bottom Sheet or Alert Dialog) without fully opening the app.

Missing info in confirmation dialogs
Before confirming an install, it would be really valuable to show:

• 📦 Package name
• 🔢 Version name + version code (build number)
• ⬆️⬇️ Whether it's an upgrade, downgrade, or reinstall vs. the currently installed version
• 📊 A real-time install progress percentage after the user confirms

String inconsistencies
There are duplicate/inconsistent result strings in the app — "Installation complete" and "Installation complete." both exist (one has a period, one doesn't), and same with "Installation failed: %1$s" vs "Installation failed: %s". Small thing, but worth cleaning up for consistency!

Other suggestions still on wishlist:

• 🔔 Toast/Snackbar confirmations (e.g. "Installation complete ✓", "Hash copied to clipboard")
• 🌗 Ensure both dialog styles properly follow the app's Light/Dark theme on older devices (Samsung One UI especially)
