Do not think that setting a gauge worth it, significant freq deviation is really rare in modern grids. |

Yes, I did updated / replaced, espem.js (function that divides freq by 10 is there) , espem.cpp and index.html, I'm back to first version, displaying float |

@Alaa-Aim BTW: you maybe interested in a new feature - you can build and run espem without connecting to PZEM device in emulation mode. It will just show some semi-random data. Should be much easier for prototyping this way :) |

@vortigont I think the problem with the last update of the EmbUI library, i used an older version of it, (I guess it is 2.7.0 version) but not the last one (2.7.1) the PZEM is connected and working but the figures are still not displayed correctly, this on ESP32S2 mini board on the ESP32 board, by using the old version of EmbUI library, everything work just fine. |

This does not makes any sense to me. Firmware is OK. So it has to do with your js on board. |

As shown in the screenshot below, the code & PZEM work fine on version 2.7.0 of EmbUI library, the espem.js files in both versions on the device are identical and matches the espem.js on the repo., full espem.js file after the last screenshot. // values for 'displays'

Both tests was on same FS files, I just upload the code with different version of EmbUI library ,I re-upload the code with 2.7.0 and works just fine no re setting required. |

How do you exactly switch builds between EmbUI's versions? |

The new version 2.7.0 pulled automatically by POI, the old version I download it manually and place it in .pio folder |

The old you mean 2.7.0? Which commit exactly? 2.7.0 release tag does not builds with recent ArduinoJson. So you must be using of of the later commits. 2.7.1 is just a new tag I've created today. |

I can see that some logs contains make sure you are using proper pins for tx/rx |

as you know, in debug mode I can not use UART 0 as it used by the serial monitor, so I have to use UART 2, whichs pin 16 & 17 respectfully, and it the same UART I used while using version 2.7.0 |

btw, you can move debug output to Serial1, just need to replace |

It looks good for both. EmbUI can't affect connection to pzem in any way. |

I'll try different versions, also, as you mentioned, maybe not the EmbUI is the one break everything, BTW I noticed that the values on ESP32S2 is not divided by 10 i.e. voltage is 2230 and frequency is 503, even-though , I used same firmware and same libraries, but on ESP32 it is all fine and correct. |

We been forking the wrong guy, I tried the last commit of EmbUI, and it work just fine, so I decided to check other libraries, started with pzem-edl, and it was the one leads the firmware not working, by using the "pulled" version by PIO, and replacing the two attached files (msgq.cpp & msgq.hpp) and everything work fine as shown in the screenshot below

after replacing the two files in pzem-edl, src folder, it works on ESP32S2 bu as you can see, the values are incorrect, it work just fine on ESP32

actually for ESP32S2 it was for both, dummy and real device, both cases displaying wrong values first screenshot below is for real device and second one for dummy mode

I used main branch of pzem-edl lib, place it in .pio folder, compile and upload, for ESP32S2 board, it works fine for both dummy and real device with same knowing issue as the values displayed incorrectly, for ESP32 it works just fine for both dummy and real device, if I let PIO pull the required libraries, it will work normally? |

it is either some wrong cached files, wrong js or like this. I'm sure you can fix it but clearing & rebuilding & reflashing everything from scratch. Actually there is no difference between esp32 & esp32-S2 that could cause display issues like this. It's totally within browser and js. |

I did erase the entire board by uploading Micropython to it, clean build , still the same issue with ESP32S2, I'll wait for the new release . Edit1 : trying 3 different browsers on same PC gives same reading (incorrect) on other PC work just fine, even though I cleared browsers' caches Edit2: after installing everything from scratch, everything work like charm |
Hi @Alaa-Aim I have idea to implement a kind of version checking between microcode and JS front-end code. So if new update introduce incompatibility a GUI could show some warning message. Will let you know once it's ready to test. |
after this update, I get a weird behavior for the UI, everything goes crazy , as shows in the screenshot below, I have three devices, ESP32, ESP32S2 and ESP32S3, all of them running in dummy mode and all behave the same : PS: the device become unresponsive and sometimes I have to restart it. Edit: I tried the ESP32S2 with real PZEM, and the issue same as the dummy one, seems like the buffered data stuck and come all together one time leading to the UI going crazy.

Hi @vortigont , I wanted to display frequency in the WeUI, as for me the frequency is changing, it would be great if it was a guage , but on the left of the WebUI also is enough, I looked all files and I could find a way to add frequency to the web page, thanks in advanced.
