fix: check results before reading their value - #6003
Conversation
Port of 6.4.x #5625 to next. Reading `.value` on a failed Result throws "Tried to get value from a failed Result.", which hides the real error. Each call site now checks `isFail()` first and either rethrows the original error, returns it as a failed result or response, or logs it where the work is best-effort cleanup. Also covers ReindexRunner, which has the same pattern but wasn't part of #5625. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

🚓 Slop Cop ✅ Nothing worth flagging. The diff looks consistent with the PR's stated intent and the code-style rules. PR is a coherent, mechanical port that adds isFail()/isOk() checks before reading Result.value across 40 files; no integrity red flags and no clear code-style rule violations found in the added lines. Automated, non-blocking heads-up from an LLM. It can be wrong — use your judgment. Regenerates on every push. |

Do not mark a tenant complete after a listing failure.
If model listing fails, this return exits only the tenant callback. The code can still add the tenant to executedTenantIds at Line 131 and return done at Line 138. The new entry-list failure branch at Lines 101–106 has the same consequence: break skips that model’s remaining entries, but completion still proceeds. Record either failure and return a task error or schedule a retry before marking the tenant complete.

Propagate model-list failures to the index task.
If listModels.execute() fails, returning [] makes the failure indistinguishable from a tenant with no models. CreateIndexesRunnerImpl.execute can then return done("No indexes found.") without creating the required indexes. Propagate the failure through the factory and runner instead of reporting an empty index list.

Propagate failed entry lookups instead of returning missing references. The entry lookup contracts include authorization and persistence errors. When a lookup fails, these branches leave an empty array and return a successful GraphQL field value. Clients cannot distinguish that failure from an absent reference.

Return an authorization status for denied access. If an authenticated caller lacks permission to read redirects, getActiveRedirects.execute() can return RedirectNotAuthorizedError. This branch reports that denial as HTTP 500. Handle the authorization error separately, and reserve 500 for server failures.

Do not let the delete caller treat this failure as an absent state.
If this team lookup fails, DeleteTargetWorkflowStateUseCaseImpl.execute receives a failed target-state result. Its current stateResult.isFail() branch returns Result.ok() without deleting the record. Update that caller to return success only for a confirmed not-found result and to propagate this team-lookup error.
