fix: find reference entries by title in autocomplete search (6.5.0 port) - #6019
Conversation
Port of #5998 from release/6.5.0. searchContentEntries returned the newest-created full-text matches cut to `limit`, so an older entry whose title was the query dropped out when newer entries mentioned it in other fields. When there is a query, it now reads up to 100 matches per model, ranks them by title match, and cuts the response to `limit`. The reference autocompletes also stop cmdk from filtering the server's results again on the client: AutoComplete and MultiAutoComplete take a `shouldFilter` prop, set to `false` where options come from the search. 🚓 Slop Cop ✅ Nothing worth flagging. The diff looks consistent with the PR's stated intent and the code-style rules. Small, focused PR matching its stated intent (title ranking + shouldFilter plumbing), no integrity or style issues found. Automated, non-blocking heads-up from an LLM. It can be wrong — use your judgment. Regenerates on every push. |

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift
Include title matches beyond the candidate cutoff.
If a model has more than 100 newer full-text matches, an older exact-title match remains outside storageLimit. The resolver cannot rank that entry, so the reference autocomplete can still fail to find it by title. This is the same search failure the PR aims to fix. Rank in the search backend, or continue through result pages before selecting the final matches. Add a test with more than 100 newer matches. (github.com)

Port of #5998 from
release/6.5.0. The commit cherry-picked cleanly; the code is the same as in that PR.What was wrong
The reference autocomplete could not find some entries by name. Two problems caused it:
searchContentEntriesruns a full-text search across every searchable field and returns the newest-created matches, cut tolimit(10 from the autocomplete). When more than 10 entries mentioned the query in other fields, an older entry whose title was the query never came back. What changed
packages/api-headless-cms/src/graphql/schema/contentEntries.ts: with a query, searchContentEntriesreads up to 100 matches per model (orlimit, if larger), orders them by title match, then cuts tolimit. The order is exact match, then prefix, then contains, then the rest bysavedOn. Without a query, nothing changes.packages/admin-ui:AutoCompleteandMultiAutoCompletetake ashouldFilterprop, passed to cmdk. Leaving it out keeps the current filtering.shouldFilter={false}is set on the reference autocompletes inapp-headless-cms(single, multiple, and the entry-list filter) and on both autocompletes inapp-website-builder'sContentEntryInput.Tests
